We are pursuing new ideas in multidisciplinary fields and working together as a team.

We believe that the quality of someone’s research is not defined by their religion, skin color, gender, and LGBTQ status.

We believe that a heterogeneous population of scientists in our lab would lead to a fruitful thinking group having a diverse range of perspectives, ideas, and scientific approaches that can foster creativity and innovation.

We measure our impact by the phenomena we explore, the technologies we develop and implement, and the scientific careers we cultivate.

Self-education and reflection:

  • A monthly journal club to promote diversity in STEM

  • Anonymous lab climate survey to raise awareness of and counter microaggregations and other practices that are out of line with our lab values

  • Commitment to at least two days a year of volunteering activities

  • Green lab spirit and actions

*Text and ideas inspired by Sangeeta Bhatia Lab at MIT, Leslie Vosshall Lab at Rockefeller, and Shannon Stott Lab at MGH-Harvard
